Enormous gratitude for helping us raise $88,000 for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation ! We’re so humbled by your generosity and heard countless personal stories throughout the month that moved us. Most gratifying were those of you who were compelled to finally make those mammogram appointments… and show up. For all who made a special effort to be here knowing 10% of our sales is being donated, visited and revisited, we are grateful. Thank you also to everyone who purchased a raffle ticket for a $20 donation… The overflowing bag of pink entries is a symbol of the good will that’s out there in our community and the unwavering support of our incredible staff. We picked our lucky winners and will contact them the next couple of days.A special thank you to all our donors who never hesitated: Lera JewelsTryst Studio ,  South Shore Auto Wash and DetailingAZ Studio,  South Shore Athletic Club CohassetBradford Distillery, LLC, , Kinnealey Meat Co.Ruby Wines Inc.L Knife & SonM.S. Starting October 1st, we’ll be donating 10% of our proceeds for the entire month of October to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation… So gather up some friends and find any excuse to come in. It’s time to get your pink on!  We’ll also be selling raffle tickets with some cool prizes for a direct donation of $20.  Over the last four years, with your support and enthusiasm, we were able to raise $82,000… and we know we can outdo ourselves!

In October of 2014, nearly a year after opening The Corner Stop with my husband Ron, I was stunned to find myself diagnosed with breast cancer after a routine mammogram.

It’s been a journey, but after three surgeries, chemo and radiation, I’ve completed my treatment and am feeling strong and ready to make a difference. 1 in 8 women Is diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime…. our mothers, daughters, wives, and friends…. 1 in 8, and men are not immune.  As with all cancers, early detection is everything.

As I often say, I was the poster child for someone you’d never suspect of getting breast cancer- I don’t smoke, rarely drink, exercise for hours a day, eat well, breast fed both my children, and have cancer nowhere in my family, much less breast cancer… and yet it came knocking. Cancer by its very definition is arbitrary and it’s important to remain vigilant. Fortunately, there is a highly effective screening for breast cancer- a mammogram- but you have to show up. As my radiologist said, I was a textbook case for why they recommend annual mammograms. It was caught early, and I am where I am today because I did just that- I showed up. I’m hoping to use the restaurant and its connection to our local community as a platform for fundraising and awareness. We were the beneficiaries of extraordinary kindness and grace from friends, family, and our community, and we’re ready to pay it forward. Please help us spread the word and join us for what promises to be an incredibly uplifting month at the restaurant.

Mother’s Day is May 12th… What’s your family’s happy place? We’re now taking reservations for lunch with brunch menu additions from 10:30-3:00, and dinner 5-8. Trust us… She does not want to be cooking and cleaning on that day! We’ll help you treat her right and keep the kids happy.

Easter is fast approaching and we’re now taking reservations from 10:30-7:00. We’ll be serving up our menu with brunch additions and other Easter favorites. We’d love to be a part of your family tradition.

The Corner Stop is proud to be partnering with World Central Kitchen to help provide meals for federal employees and their families affected by the shutdown. Simply show up with a government ID during lunch Wednesday through Sunday, and we’ll treat you to an entree. It’s an honor to help take care of those who take care of us during this difficult time.
